True Blood was meh.

I was expecting a lot more. The season premiere has to be something special and this just wasn’t worth the hype. Game of Thrones has ruined all other shows for me, because while watching True Blood, I was like: “You know, I really miss Game of Thrones.” The episode wasn’t bad but unsatisfactory.

Pros:

Listening to the guitar riffs of Bad Things felt really fucking good.

They definitely needed the 1 year jump.

ERIC. Holy shit. Dat everything.

I think I like Bill again. It’s funny how I like him when he doesn’t get in the way of Eric/Sookie. He becomes kind of a badass, rather than the whiny bitch we usually see. I hope he stays that way.

Iggy Pop - Real Wild Child. I love that song.

Jason. Hot damn. I request more scenes with tight shirts. Or without.

Pam being awesome.

And I think I’m going to like Sam more in this season.

Cons:

THE OPENING SCENE. I’m not kidding, it’s one of the worst scenes I’ve seen on TV. What the utter fuck? Who thought this was a good idea? It was hilarious and not in a good way. And Paquin’s acting…ugh.

The whole deal with Sookie’s grandfather. Everything happened too fast. We’re supposed to care about his death? He has been on-screen for 7 minutes tops!

Jessica/Hoyt. Stop it. They’re boring.

And what the hell have you done to Tommy? Fucking christians.

Jason’s storyline.

Lafayette’s storyline.

Tara’s storyline. Because apparently you can change your sexual orientation at a moment’s notice. Alan Ball is herping his derp again. Obviously, explanation is for suckers.

The writing overall seemed…mediocre. Maybe it’s the Game of Thrones effect.

But don’t worry. I’ve seen the second episode and it’s a lot better.
